LEARN ABOUT THE US WITH ANDERS!
Another teacher story heading your way! In this episode of Humans of SDU, you can meet Anders from the American Studies department with a life-long interest in American history – which ultimately brought him back to academia after a journalistic career.
- What do Danish people have to do with the American Civil War?
- Why didn’t Anders continue working as a sports journalist?
- How long does it take to sail to the US?
How did we find Anders?
Actually, the idea to bring Anders to our podcast gallery of heroes came from two different places! First of all, he was one of Miška’s favorite teachers during her Master’s in American Studies. With his journalistic background, it was no wonder he also became her (super helpful and supportive) MA thesis supervisor. But Anders has ties to other podcast guests of Humans of SDU, as well – none other than Rasmus who bunked together with Anders in their college days in the US.
We decided to ask Anders to join us behind the microphones at Humans of SDU (naturally, after Miška’s grade had been submitted, haha!) and he, of course, brought along his knowledge of American history. But he also let us see why he was drawn to the topic since his childhood and shared some stories from his college days with (now) coworkers. If you want to know what it feels like to work with your former roommates, listen to Anders and his story in this episode of Humans of SDU!
