Today’s host: Ludivine!

Introducing Thomas and Citizen Science!

Thomas is the coordinator of the Citizen Science Center at SDU, recently created to raise awareness around this research method, by demonstrating its potential when it comes to tackling our current societal and scientific challenges. Through his Citizen Science Talent Programme, the students of SDU get the opportunity to design a research project and exchange with the European community of scientists working on Citizen Sciences.

“Right now, worldwide, if you go to SciStarter or Zooniverse, there are between three thousand and five thousand online, active citizen science projects out-there, where you and me, and anyone interested in science to some degree can actually participate into research. […] We looked at it and said “Oh, this sounds interesting!”, then we collected a lot of really good researchers and people who work around research, locked them in a room, threw away the keys and kicked them in the behind until they come up with some good solutions.”
